This app provides how-to tips and impact statistics for the users, as well as the function to log sustainable actions in their daily life. It is one of the most representative examples of gamified behavior change apps, featuring a motivation system that is mainly realized through points and badges. It also utilizes a social networking functionality to further motivates users’ participation by enabling competition among friends and/or the local communities through (automatic) rankings.
Moreover, the app offers a company-use version (JouleBug Enterprise), which is specially designed for company to motivate its employees and build a conscientious and environmentally responsible company culture/image.
